anyone have tips for cleaning the camera lenses and the body?
thanks:)
I posted the question on twitter, one good suggestion was to spray eyeglass cleaner (not window cleaner) onto a lens cleaning cloth and clean in a spiral from the centre outwards.
Not sure about the body, but there may be hints in your camera's manual.
Hopefully this helps :)
hi there.. first post on the forum .. yeah ive been wondering the same thing.. i guess eye glasses cleaner is worth a try .. tried one of those microfibre cloths but i think it made it worse haha
ive seen those pen lens cleaner brushes .. and thoughts on them ?
And for all these years I've been using the edge of my tee-shirt ;-)
You buy the lens and before you put it on the camera, you screw on a lens filter.
You spit on it, you wipe it with whatever is drier/cleaner, and the worst that happens is you buy
a new filter for $10.
I'm sorry, am I missing something about this thread? You're using your camera without a UV filter?
As for cleaning the body--guys, a slightly damp paper towel. A paintbrush, a cotton swab.
Sure the microfiber cloth if you can remember where you put it. (I have 6, I can never find one, then when I find one it's full of dog hair.)
haha thanks guys i also tried a microfiber but it didn“t worked at all an left my lens al fuzzy and i've ben using isopropyl alcohol wipes buy i cant keep buying them forever xD, besides they work fine but not enough :/
heya .. ok i read up a little bit and there are so many different opinions on this .. i went and brought a 'lenspen' today
http://www.lenspen.com $10.95 at officeworks.. im sure theres someone selling them in 'wonderland' denHM :)
brush on one side rubber with carbon or something on the other.. worked fantastic on the glass, removed marks and fingerprints/smudges. Then a light wipe over the body of the lens and camera with that microfibre cloth.
yes so that thing is pretty cheap .. they claim 500 uses but i dunno use it a few times .. if it degrades in quality then get another one.
oh and i slapped a hoya pro1 UV filter on one of my lenses that i had here but wasnt to sure what it was used for lol.. thanks for that Maise Marchal
The lenspen looks really good. The problem i've always had with cleaning my lenses or filters is that when wiping them i just end up spreading the dirt around in a circular pattern. I can never get it all off.
How're you finding it Phil?
No i found it to be great... i was suprised actually .. because id seen similar items on ebay but thought they looked like a gimmick but the original one is good.
The brush is soft and flicks particles away but i was most pleased with the way the other end removes all the marks.
The tip is more shaped for the convex shape of the lens but i tried it on the filter which is obviously flat and it was still ok
No probs :)
